Hayfield Manor, hotel in Cork

Set in leafy grounds just 15 minutes’ walk from Cork center, Hayfield Manor is a luxury hotel with a beauty spa and an elegant restaurant. Cork International Airport is a 15-minute drive away.

The entire property is just lovely! From the lobby to the courtyard to our rooms, we enjoyed every aspect. The lobby is full of comfortable couches, has a fire burning, and a pianist in the evenings. Delightful! Our room was very comfortable and spacious, and the bed was perfect as far as comfort and quality of linens. Everything was very clean. Turn-down service was a nice touch, as were the snacks provided in our room at arrival. The bathroom was also very spacious and had fabulous water pressure. Parking was very easy and the concierge was very helpful with recommendations as well. It was so nice to have a comfortable spot to rest after a busy day sightseeing and my family enjoyed both the pool and jacuzzi in the evenings.

The River Lee Hotel a member of The Doyle Collection, hotel in Cork

On the banks of Cork’s River Lee, this luxurious hotel is a 5-minute walk from central Cork. It features air-conditioned rooms, bistro, and secure, on-site car parking.

For the price of the room I think it would have been nice to include a continental breakfast. I traveled with my mother who had difficulty moving around. So looking out the window over the river and view the locals on their daily life was a huge hit with her.

FAQs about hotels in Cork

Irish Spirit In A Nutshell

Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city center was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.

Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which have a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.

For those craving more lively entertainment, the city has the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.

The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.

When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodations; Booking.com has plenty from convenient hotels, to cozy guesthouses and bed & breakfasts.

We stayed in Cork because it was central to other things we wanted to see. That was a mistake. Cork is just a big city. Not overly pretty, not much to do. The English Market is very active and interesting. There are many restaurants and bars. We accidentally booked an apt on a busy street, and it was noisy all night. I wouldn't recommend anybody visit Cork.

The city is very clean and tidy.

The city is very clean and tidy. A visit to the stunning University College of Cork and the lovely Fitzgerald Park can take about half a day each as they are both so amazing. There is a public museum and cafe in Fitzgerald Park. There are many lovely views of the River Lee both in the city centre and around. There are lots of green spaces and the people were friendly. I only went for 3 days on a business trip but would have liked to have spent much more time there to see the other sights of interest such as the Blarney Castle, Cork Goal and Cobh - where the lovely coloured painted houses are. Two weeks in Cork would be ideal for me.

Great genealogy and family history day was held at the Cork County Archives. Very friendly staff and excellent speakers. I did not know this was an annual event that they held there and I would recommend it to anyone interested in genealogy. It was well attended and I understand it will be repeated next Thursday 18th April such was the demand for seats. I hope to return to the archives for research and to attend their annual family history day.

    The city was great.

The city was great. Lots of shops and places to visit nearby. There are many hills so bear in mind if your about travelling. The Old City Goal is up a huge hill so Taxi there and walk back (downhill) Taxis are cheap enough to use but some of them are cheeky with the prices. The weather was good for our stay but remember to take an umbrella as it often rains unexpectedly.

Amazing value. It’s 3 times the size of a standard hotel room… and almost half the price - with all the added benefit of kitchen facilities, a great breakfast bar and lounge. A stones throw from the city centre and UCC. Quiet at night (no pubs nearby). Really an awesome choice to stay, probably the best around for the money. And it was absolutely spotlessly clean, tastefully and neutrally decorated and well maintained (other than the disappointing mattress). I will be back.

The apartment is really comfortable, big, and has everything u need...! As it is a students accomodation, there's plenty of power plugs around the room, specially on the table... the location is also great, close to supermarkets - and there's a mall nearby as well... it's not far from the city centre, around 10m by car...

The room was immaculate and the hosts are friendly. The hotel is within a stone's throw from the city centre and surrounded by two of the most gorgeous green area of the city (UCC gardens and Fitzgerald Park).
